No-fee Visa Gift Cards at Staples

Yass those $200 Visa Gift Cards are back without fees at your local Staples store!

How does this Visa GC thing works?

If you don’t already know, you can easily get extra points by purchasing these Visa Gift Cards at Staples - if you have a credit card that gives bonus points for office stores like Staples and Office Depot / Office Max.

For instance, I have the Chase Ink Plus Business card that gives me 5x Chase Ultimate Rewards points for every $ that I spend at office stores.

Why does this Visa promo matters?

Well, by purchasing $200 Visa GC with this week’s promo, Staples is waiving the usual $6.95 fee (per $200 card). I will be getting 200 x 5 = 1000 Chase UR points without having to pay that pesky fee!

And why do I need Chase Ultimate Rewards points?

I am sure you have seen those people on social media traveling First / Business class? Most probably they are not spending $15k for a seat! Yes it does costs that much for a seat or more if you are paying cash.

Those creators are mostly paying by transferring credit card points to airlines miles. Chase has this loyalty program that allows you to do this called Ultimate Rewards (UR).

So the more UR points you collect, the easier to snag those fancy business class seats yourself!

I will probably do a YouTube video explaining all these in greater details later but this is basically why.

When does this Visa GC offers expires?

This Sunday! 12/18/2022! Each store might have specific limits like one card per person or something so check with your store. I think mine allows 5 cards per person.

What are these Visa Gift Cards good for?

Use it like you would use a regular “debit” card. At any store in the US, you can also choose “credit”. If you choose debit then you would need to enter the PIN which is usually the last 4 digits of the card number. Online shopping usually requires you to register the card online with your name and residential address.
